Thank You Police Activities League!

Thank you to the SW Washington Police Activities League (PALs) for visiting Woodburn on January 21st for a 2nd grade reading assembly.  Officers from the Camas PD, Washougal PD, and Animal Control, celebrated literacy and showed off their vehicles this week. We look forward to continuing this partnership in the future!

 

Woodburn Students Help To Restore the Steigerwald Refuge

During a recent field trip to the Steigerwald Refuge in Washougal, Woodburn 5th graders explored the landscape and helped with restoration. Students planted a mix of black cottonwood, red osier dogwood, and a mix of different willows, surrounding each log habitat structure with a layer of new vegetation. Learn about your child’s classroom routines, what they will be learning this year, and how to support your children at home.

Wednesday Oct. 16th 3rd & 4th Grade Family Information Night

  • 5:00-5:30pm Families meet with Principal Graham to provide feedback on our School Improvement and Parent Engagement Plans. Supervision will be available on the playground during this time for school age children.
  • 5:30-6:30pm Families visit classrooms.

Thursday Oct. 17th 1st & 2nd Grade Family Information Night

  • 5:00-5:30pm Families meet with Principal Graham to provide feedback on our School Improvement and Parent Engagement Plans. Supervision will be available on the playground during this time for school age children.

Outdoor Classroom

Thank you to Josh Jutilla, member of the Boy Scout Troop #429, for his leadership in organizing the creation and installation of our new outdoor classroom space. Special thanks to the following organizations and volunteers for providing funding and donations for this special project: PAWS, Lutz Hardware, Parkrose Hardware, Washougal Hardware, Washougal Lumber, Home Depot, Shur-way Lumber, Krispy Kreme Donuts, Ken Hines, Paul Fuger, Lou (Ken’s neighbor), Eric King, and the Jutilla Family.

5th Grade Formal Lunch

Thank you to our 5th grade teachers, parent volunteers, and food services for providing our first formal lunch.  We look forward to making this event a tradition at Woodburn!

Understanding Child Anxiety and Stress

 

Join us on Tuesday January 22nd from 6:00-7:00pm for a

presentation from Jennifer McMillan on child anxiety and stress.

Jennifer has practiced family counseling and served as a Mental

Health Counselor in schools for over 20 years. The presentation will

take place in the Woodburn library. The Reptile Man will be

entertaining in the cafeteria for childcare.

*We will start with a very brief PTO meeting.
