We do plan to have an in-person Kindergarten orientation on Wednesday August 25th from 4-5pm.

Last night we hosted a Town Hall to share our plans for the in-person hybrid model. For those who were unable to join us, we have linked the recording and slides from the Town Hall.

To support our planning efforts, we need each family to respond to our Family Preference Survey. If you have already completed the survey, then thank you in advance. We appreciate your efforts to communicate and collaborate with us to do our best for all of our students this year.

Title 1 Staff Qualifications – Each year Woodburn receives federal funding to support student learning. As part of the Every Student Succeeds Act (ESSA) we are required to share this letter in case you would like to request information about the professional qualifications of staff working with your child. Woodburn Kindergarten Orientation

Who: Woodburn 4^th and 5^th grade students

Limited to 24 participants a lottery system will be used by

Principal Graham if there are more than 24 registrations.

Cost: $25, all proceeds go towards purchasing additional Lego Robotics Kits. Fees paid upon confirmation of registration.

When:  Mondays and Tuesdays March 2^nd, March 3^rd, March 9^th, March 10^th  2:35-3:45 pm

Parents are encouraged to attend the last 30 minutes of the final session on March 10th to see their child’s building and programming success.

Where: Woodburn Elementary, Computer Lab

 What will students learn? Students will learn how to build simple robots with EV3 Lego Robotics kits. After completing a build, students will learn basic programming to operate the robot using EV3 programming software on chromebooks.   Opportunities will be provided for students to navigate obstacles by using sensors and sequencing in their programs.
