Our first season is complete and both schools did a great job on the field as well as in the class room. The Skyridge 8th grade football team went undefeated in league and also took top honors at the league football extravaganza. In Girls Cross Country Skyridge and Liberty finished 2nd and 3rd in the District meet. Liberty had the District champion in the 6th grade race and Skyridge the champion in the 7th grade race.
We had 55 girls compete in Cross Country at Skyridge and they maintained a GPA of 3.51. 34 girls competed at Liberty with a GPA of 3.48. In football 27 Liberty boys competed with a GPA of 3.02. At Skyridge 26 players had a GPA of 3.0.
Overall, 142 student athletes competed at Skyridge and Liberty during the first season. They had a combined GPA of 3.36.
Second season is underway and it looks like we will have large numbers again in volleyball and wrestling.
–Marley Lafore went undefeated in league and won the Cross Country 7th grade District title for Skyridge
- Emma Jenkins won the Cross Country District Championship for Liberty in the 6th grade division
- Maddie Woodson set a Liberty school record of 8:58:18 and was the league’s best runner in the 8th grade division.
- Skyridge Cross Country had a team GPA of 3.51 and is leading in the race for the Athletic Academic Award.
Our Skyhawks defended their Paper Cup title on Tuesday, October 18, and continue to be reigning champions! Many spectators turned out to cheer on their team and exhibit school spirit!
The District Football Extravanganza will be held this Saturday, October 22, at Doc Harris Stadium. Our Skyhawks will compete against Pacific at 3 PM. Ticket costs will be $3 for adults, $2 for students without ASB, $1 for students with ASB and seniors, and children under 12 will have free admission. Come and join the fun as our Skyhawks compete for further victory!
Our annual Paper Cup football game is coming soon. Come and join the fun on Tuesday, October 18, at the Doc Harris Stadium at 6:30 pm!

Our annual ASB magazine sale fundraiser is now in progress with subscription turn in days on Thursday, October 6; Tuesday, October 11; and Thursday, October 13. The annual Camas Educational Foundation Auction will take place on Saturday, October 15, at Camas’ own Fairgate Inn, right behind Dorothy Fox Elementary. The event includes a silent and live auction as well as live entertainment. You can register for the Auction at www.CEFCamas.org. If you can’t attend, but would like to buy a raffle ticket or make a donation, you can that there as well. Is your child interested in traveling to the East Coast? The Camas 8th grade trip is June 24 through July 1, 2012. There is an informational meeting this Thursday, September 22, at 7 PM in our Skyridge library. Students can pick up an informational flyer in the Skyridge main office. Details about the Skyridge back to school process have been mailed to our families. We are offering an orientation to all of our 6th grade students and new 7th and 8th grade students as well as dates and times for returning students to pick up their schedules and pay fees. Our Skyridge office is now open for business! You are welcome to come in Monday through Friday to make purchases and pay fees. Schedule details include:
August 22-31; the office is open Monday through Friday; 8 AM-3PM
August 31; 6th grade and new 7th/8th grade students are invited to attend orientation from 6-8 PM. Parents and students should plan to stay for the entire event which will follow a structured itinerary including an informational session with administrators, distribution of student schedules. locating classrooms and meeting teachers, and the opportunity to purchase school items and pay fees. Refreshing smoothies will be available for purchase and sales will support the Skyridge PTO.
September 1; 7th/8th grade students may drop in to pick up schedules and pay fees, 8-9:30 AM and 1-6 PM (office closed 9:30 AM-12:30 for district-wide staff meeting).
