Sky Hawk pride is soaring high! Skyridge 7th grade science teacher, John Condon, has been named one of two Camas-Washougal Chamber of Commerce Teachers of the Year! The tagline included on every e-mail Mr. Condon sends out states: “Kids don’t care what I know until they know I care.” He feels that his greatest accomplishment in education is the relationships he’s built with students. Mr. Condon has been teaching seventh-grade science for 25 years and we are fortunate to have him here at Skyridge!
Mr. Condon will be honored at the Chamber of Commerce Annual Awards Banquet on Tuesday, June 5, which will be held at the Camas Meadows Golf Club, 4105 NW Camas Meadows Drive. Social hour begins at 5:30 pm with dinner served at 6:30 pm. Cost is $35. RSVP to firstname.lastname@example.org or 834-2472.
Our Skyridge library is hosting a Scholastic Book Fair and funds raised will go back into the library to provide books and online resources for our students. Online purchasing is a new option this year with a vast selection of books. There are countless book choices for everyone in the family. The online purchase option is now active at http://onlinebookfairs.scholastic.com/default.aspx?f=3085318 and continues until June 12. Books purchased online are sent to our school for free. When checking out, you will notice the shipping charge is zero. The “traditional” fair starts on June 8 and runs through June 18.
