Mark your calendar for Saturday, May 3 – it’s time for “Cinco de Casino!” Grab your sombrero and maracas and head to “Casa de Westlie” in Washougal for one of Camas Athletic Booster Club’s incredible annual fundraisers. Doors open at 6 PM with a silent auction and appetizers (no-host beverages will be available). Gaming fun will begin at 6:30 PM and continue throughout the evening with on-going tournaments. A live auction and raffle prizes will close out the evening of festivities. This will be a really fun event and all proceeds will help fund our student athlete programs.
Did you know that a special garden has been “in the works” at Skyridge for almost a year? The final stages of construction are now happening and it will be dedicated on Earth Day next Tuesday, April 22, at 2:10 PM. At that time Skyridge Middle School will also be presented with a Washington State Green School Level 3 Award.
If you would like to help put the final touches on our Lewis and Clark Rain Garden, please join other volunteers this Saturday, April 19 at 9 AM. The garden is located in the grass area immediately behind our library. This garden is the result of a lot of had work and support from our community, students and staff. We have received grants for plants, donated dirt and gravel from local businesses, and many hours of labor to make this a reality. Please consider an hour or two at Skyridge this Saturday to help finish a garden that will be both educational and beautiful.
THANK YOU for supporting our recent ASB fundraiser! If you purchased cookie dough and/or food products, please remember that we need you to pick up your items on THURSDAY, April 17, 2-4:30 PM. We have no place to store these items so we cannot be responsible for orders that do not get picked up on this day!

Grades have been posted and trimester 2 report cards will begin to arrive in family mail boxes on Wednesday or Thursday of this week. If you have questions regarding your student’s grades, please contact the specific teacher. Skyridge had 520 students make the Honor Roll with a 3.5 or better – 60.25%! Of those 520 students, 35% earned a 4.0; 44% a 3.7-3.99; and 21% with a 3.5-3.69. Go HAWKS!
Our Regional Honor Choir singers did an amazing job in Seattle this past weekend at the American Choral Directors Association Convention. Skyridge participants included Grant Bane, Megan Bauer, Avery Bradshaw, Annie Colvin, Jaeden Davis, Isaac Dizon, Abby Hayes, Tara Larsen, Sydney Moses, Jackie Muri, Avery Smith, Hannah Upkes, Janessa Wilson and Amelia Wong. Students from 6 states came together to form various choirs. Sydney Moses was selected to sing one of three solos following an audition of 68 students during rehearsal.
Congratulations to our Science Olympiad team! They came in fourth place after a full day of regional competition on Saturday where teams from 12 middle schools competed. Our teams brought home 14 medals; 2-Gold, 6-Silver, and 6-Bronze, as well as 10 fourth place ribbons.
In an effort to support the students at Skyridge, we will be conducting a Cookie Dough Fundraiser. Last year this fundraiser helped to secure a wide variety of ASB needs for all of our students. We hope that you will support us by embracing this great fundraising opportunity. The cookie dough comes in a great flavor variety, is preportioned for easy use, and has no trans fats. Other yummy treats are also being offered.
