That’s right – the CEF Auction never sleeps. Believe it or not, preparations for the 2014 Auction are well underway. In fact, the date and venue have already been secured, but one piece is missing: a co-chair for the committee. Or maybe we should say a dynamic co-chairing duo. Three-year alum Mandy Huth has committed to co-chairing this year’s auction in a supporting role, but she needs a person who will take over the reins. If you have been looking for a good way to get seriously involved in fundraising in Camas, this may be the job for you! See this job description for more detail about what’s involved, and contact Mandy at firstname.lastname@example.org if you are at all curious.
Here at Skyridge we are fortunate to have an incredible PTO that support our students and staff in countless ways throughout the school year!
Their efforts include, but are not limited to, various fundraisers providing annual PTO grants to Skyridge which directly support student learning, providing spirit wear purchase opportunities, volunteering throughout the year for school and classroom events and activities, supporting our athletic and extracurricular activities programs, providing staff appreciation treats and recognition, and providing classroom supplies mid-year. This year they took on improving our large front entry planters and are supporting a native garden project which is currently being developed.
If you would like to get involved, please send an email to email@example.com and get connected
with other Skyridge parents, staff and students!
The Skyridge Girls’ Basketball team took to the hardwood for their season opener and walked away with 4 wins. The Skyridge sweep was more impressive. The teams combined scores almost toppled into the double century mark…. with 196 points scored, the Skyridge Girls lit up the board draining bucket after bucket. Great hustle and unselfish team play rounded out the effort and made for a dynamic display of athleticism by Skyridge. Go Hawks!
Congrats to Devin Dancu for his first pin and Bailey Thompson for her victory, as well as Ryan Ball, Will Schultz and many other athletes!
In March, Skyridge students were studying Andrew Jackson and the effects he had on American democracy. As a checkpoint assessment after one section of this unit, Rachel Higgins put together a remarkable rap video. It is quick and we guarantee a laugh. Best of all, this video is also a reminder that our kids do amazing things when given choice in how they show what they have learned.

Thanks to all the voters in Camas who stepped up and voted to uphold our standards for our students, and the community in which we live. While we only needed a simple majority to win the levy elections, it warms the heart to see the overwhelming support.
