PHE Library Tree

  1. ART- The poetry tree is up in the library. Come and take a peek!   Every child’s work is incorporated.
    1. Kindergartners contributed words related to spring and summer in their own special fonts.
    2. 1st grade and 2nd grade wrote lavish sentences about “How to be Spring/Summer” – These make up the background and trunk
    3. 3rd grade wrote “Where I’m from” which mostly make up the bottom section including the roots
    4. 4th grade wrote “If you knew me, but if you really knew me” which make up the branches
    5. 5th grade use tagxedo to make leaves which incorporated many themes that were more individualized.

We hope to make another tree on the matching wall soon. Something with more of a fall feel.

The Fall Run for the Arts event will sponsor the fall tree in the Prune Hill  library. Our run will be October 13. Watch for information and sign up sheets with your child.

Saluting our Veterans!

In preparation for our upcoming Veterans’ Assembly, November 9, 2011, we are putting together a presentation called “Veterans: Then and Now”. We would like students to appreciate that Veterans are people who served our country, and people that we see every day-grandparents, teachers, neighbors, etc.

We need your help with this effort. We will appreciate pictures submitted by our families by October 28. . Please follow the link to  read the details.

Treasure Ally

Thanks to our PTA, Prune Hill Penguins were treated to a play about forming friendships, bully prevention and getting past differences. Thank you PTA!!

The coins are counted and the dollars bundled! Prune Hill donated a total of $699.81  to the Red Cross in support of the Japan earthquake and tsunami relief. This exceeds the goal of the student organizers of this effort. Penguin families really care about their neighbors!
