Community Lending Library Now at Prune Hill Park!

Over the weekend, one of our own students, Joseph Tuason, constructed and installed a Lending Library at Prune Hill Park (with a little help from Mom and Dad). Joseph’s parents felt that “having a little lending library near our neighborhood would be a good way to promote reading and community spirit”.

What is a lending library? It’s a small structure  that allows children to share books with each other that they’ve purchased, read and no longer want in their personal library. Kids can take a book out, with the understanding that they put a book in, to share with others.

This lending library is located in the lower parking lot, near the stairs to the fields. Tuasons have already witnessed a student, Samantha, using the lending library, and are hoping that with spring and summer weather, more children will use it!

There is no ‘check out’ system. Families are encouraged to add gently used books to the library for kids to take what they’d like to read, and replace it with other books if so inclined.

Please remember that Prune Hill Elementary library books belong at school! 🙂

Thanks to the Tuason family for their heart for reading and for improving our great community!
