Prune Hill Elementary School is a member of the District’s Energy Star family. Prune Hill earned the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency’s (EPA’s) ENERGY STAR certification, which signifies that the building performs in the top 25 percent of similar facilities nationwide for energy efficiency and meets strict energy efficiency performance levels set by the EPA.

Ocean to Ocean 2013: Running for Those Who Can’t! WE DID IT!!!

                      4,990.5 miles total for Ocean to Ocean!!  WE DID IT!!!

                           That includes 117 miles from the Family Fitness afternoon last weekend.

 

I adjusted the Penguin on the map to represent this…  We arrived in Boston, then turned around and are now headed back home to Camas!

Guest Author Visits Prune Hill Wednesday, May 22!

 

 

Matthew Holm, co-author and illustrator of the Babymouse and Squish series of graphic novels will be visiting Prune Hill Elementary on May 22, 2013.  He will talk about how where his story ideas come from (he writes them with his sister) and he will demonstrate his drawing and cartooning techniques.  This author visit has been well-received by several area schools and we are looking forward to his visit.  There will be an opportunity to buy signed copies of his book at a discount.  The entire Babymouse series will be there along with some of the Squish books.  They will sell for $6.25  (this includes tax).  Please send cash or a check made out to Barnes & Noble if you are interested!

You and your upcoming kindergartener are invited to visit Prune Hill on May 15th at 2:00 to participate in an activity with our Kindergarten teachers and enjoy a school bus ride (parents will have a presentation in the gym)!

~Ocean to Ocean, our school jogging program, has begun! Our goal as a school is to reach 3,000 miles in honor of those who are unable to run.  Save the Date: Sunday, May 19 3:00-4:30 will be a Family Run here at PH to add more miles to your Ocean to Ocean card!

Big Learning for Little Learners

Please join us for an evening of family-focused learning activities to support early learning and school readiness skills. This program is open to young learners ages 3-6 in the Camas School District. We will focus on early literacy and math skills and provide free materials for you to take home and use to continue the learning at home. Space is limited to the first 40 families.

Levies pass!

Thanks to all the voters in Camas who stepped up and voted to uphold our standards for our students, and the community in which we live. While we only needed a simple majority to win the levy elections, it warms the heart to see the overwhelming support.
