Activities
Builders Club
This is a service-oriented club affiliated with Kiwanis and open to all students. Its goals are to develop leadership potential, to foster the development of strong moral character, and to encourage loyalty to school, community, and nation.
Robotics Club
Students will work with the LEGO Mindstorm kits. They will design, build and program a variety of robots to perform specific tasks. They will also research and solve a real world science problem as related to Lego League Challenges.
Science Olympiad
This group also meets and competes against other schools in our area. Teamwork is a required skill in most scientific careers today, and Science Olympiad encourages group learning by designing events that forge alliances. Science Olympiad seeks to shatter the isolated scientist stereotype.
Knowledge Bowl Our school competes against other schools in academic competitions. If you like “Jeopardy” on television, this may be a great activity for you.
National Junior Honor Society Any student who earns a 3.5 grade point average or higher and has attended Liberty for at least one trimester is eligible for NJHS. Its goals are to recognize outstanding students, promote and support scholarship, and involve members in significant learning experiences in the areas of school and community service.
Knitting Club Knitting Club is held every Wednesday from 2:45 to 4:00 p.m. throughout the school year. All students, staff, and parents are welcome to participate! This is for knitters of all levels of expertise, from beginners (never knitted) to expert! I have lots of experience with knitting and am well qualified to help learn to knit, and also help with knitting problems! Bring your own supplies if you have them! If you can purchase supplies – skein of worsted weight yarn and size 8 or 9 needles! If you can’t supply your own, I will have supplies. We will be making scarves for Afghanistan, hats, gifts, etc.
If you have any questions about the club, see Ms. Janzen (library) or Ms. Cone (Commons).
