Class of 2017 T-Shirt Orders

It’s official – our 8th grade students are about to become official Papermakers! Our Class of 2017 students now have an opportunity to purchase a t-shirt, hoodie or crew and proclaim they are Papermakers!

Orders and payment are due to our main office on Friday, May 31. The costs are: T-shirt – $15; Hoodie – $31; Crew – $28. Make checks payable to: Liberty PTO. Freshman wear gray for CHS Color Wars. Sizes available include YL, AS, AM, AL, and AXL. Orders will be distributed to students on Wednesday, June 5, so that they may be worn on Friday, June 7, to their Freshman Assembly at CHS (1:30 p.m.) and optional 8th grade dance (2:30-4:30) in the CHS Commons in conjunction with Skyridge Middle School/future freshman!

Liberty Ship Historic Photograph

Attached is a photograph taken on Friday, May 17, documenting the presentation of the Liberty Ship historic photograph to Liberty Middle School in Camas, WA by the Camas-Washougal Historical Society. Pictured left to right: Marilyn Boerke, Principal; Richard Johnson, Board President, Camas-Washougal Historical Society; and, Teague Schroeder, Student Body President. Teague is in the 8th grade. The photograph shows Liberty ships built in the Vancouver Kaiser Shipyards during World War II. An anchor from the Liberty Ship, Davy Crocket, is situated behind. Richard Johnson also presented a book of the Kaiser Shipyards history compiled by Camas-Washougal President Emeritus Curtis Hughey.

Marilyn Brown, Board Secretary and Publicity Chair, will write an article and submit, along with the photograph, to the Camas-Washougal Post-Record and our Society’s newsletter.

Cookie Dough Fundraiser

Cookie Dough from our spring fundraiser will be delivered to Liberty Middle School Tuesday, May 21st. Fundraiser items will be available for pick-up in the Liberty commons 1:30 to 3:00. Liberty students raised over $6,000 for our school, GOOD WORK LIONS!

Forecasting Season!

Forecasting is beginning at Liberty for the 2013-14 school year. Students currently in 6^th and 7^th grades will receive forecasting forms this week, which require a parent signature and should be returned to school by June 12. Students currently in 5^th grade will receive forecasting forms the last week of May when they visit Liberty for their tour. Please contact us if you have any questions about this process!
