Highly Capable Testing
Camas School District offers an elementary program for highly capable students in grades three through five. This model involves identifying students who would benefit from specialized instruction and support at their grade level. Qualifying students have the option of being in a “cluster group” of similar students within a classroom at their grade level.
The Cognitive Abilities Test is scheduled for Saturday, April 21, 2012. If you are interested in program placement, please click the links below for more information.

Kindergarten Orientation May 16
Helen Baller Elementary wants to extend an invitation to our Kindergarten Orientation. This is for incoming students that will be five years of age on or before August 31, 2012. If your student is going to be a kindergartener in the 2012/13 school year please join us on Wednesday, May 16, 2012 from 9:30 AM-11:00 AM. Parents will meet in our library and have the chance to hear from our kindergarten teachers, school nursing staff, central registrar, Mr. Parman-our principal, and more!
During the parent presentation your future kindergartener will go to our current kindergarten rooms and “shadow” a current kindergartener and participate in a class activity. They will even get to ride on a real school bus; the highlight of most children’s first school experience!
If you have any questions regarding which school boundary you reside in, feel free to call the Transportation Office at 833-5585 or the Helen Baller office at 833-5720. This is a wonderful time for our incoming kindergarteners to visit Helen Baller in anticipation of their first day of school. If you have any friends or neighbors who have kindergarten age children, please share this information with them! So, plan to join us for orientation on May 16, 2012. Hope to see you there!
