Jostens gave a senior presentation on January 13th going over the ordering information for graduation announcements, class rings, cap and gowns, as well as other senior items.
Orders should be turned in by February 1st. Ordering now guarantees the lower price as well as not having to put a deposit down. Orders placed after this date might be subject to higher prices and payment in full. Order forms can be dropped off at the front desk (print out your order form), or you can order on-line . Online orders will require a deposit.
If purchasing a cap and gown becomes a problem for your family, please contact Kristi Thomas at 360-833-5600. Remember, no deposit is required at this time, so please get your order in.
Graduation is a tremendous accomplishment and we wish all our soon-to-be graduates great success.
Yearbooks can only be purchased through the Picaboo site. You will NOT be able to order through school until the end of the year when we have a small extra supply.
Order online now through May 21st. You can also choose to personalize 4 pages and the back cover for FREE!
Order a hardcover yearbook for $25 or softcover for $15. It will be delivered to you at school in June, before graduation.
SENIORS : Please submit your preferred yearbook portrait to Mr. Johnson via email by April 29th, or your school ID photo will be used.
PARENTS/GUARDIANS OF SENIORS : If you are interested in purchasing a Senior Ad in the yearbook to celebrate your student’s accomplishments.
Cost: Options : 1/4 page=$10, 1/2 page=$20, full page layout=$30.

Students who missed Picture Day on September 7th or would like to retake photos will need to be here October 18th for retakes.
If dissatisfied with previous photos, students must bring back the original order on Retake Day to avoid an additional charge.
*** This is a new date. Previous date was Sept. 30th. We had to change dates due to a CHS football game changing to Sept.30th. Parking would have been an issue.
You are invited to attend our annual open house, Thursday, October 14th, from 6:00 to 7:00pm.
This will be a time to informally chat with the Hayes Freedom faculty and staff, as well as visit classrooms and tour the school. This is a great opportunity to see what type of work our students are doing!
Students who have actively involved parents perform better in their school activities, so come out and support your student & our school.

Greetings from the front office of Hayes Freedom High School! We hope that you have had an enjoyable and safe summer. We would like to extend a warm welcome to our new families and students. We are excited for you to join us. For our existing students and families, we are looking forward to starting the year with everybody in the building. Although, we are still required to wear masks, it will be great to have you all back on campus 5 days a week! Sit back and relax, because this post is jam packed with information to help get this year off to a smooth start! Please be sure to review this post entirely and complete any necessary forms that are linked. There are also some attached helpful documents and a Camas School District “Welcome Back” letter.
Office Hours: Our office is now open from 8:00 am -2:00 pm. While we still encourage communication to be done remotely, appointments and walk-ins are welcome. You will be required to sign in and wear a mask.
Office Closed Tuesday, August 24th: Our office will be closed this day for an all day district training.
Daily School Schedule: We are still finalizing our bell schedule and will post it on our website when it is complete, but start time will be 8:55 and end time will be between 3:15-3:25 (TBD).
Student Drop In Days:
9th grade and new students only/Thursday, August 26th at 10:30-11:30 or 1:30-2:30. We are providing two time options on this day. This day will consist of students having a short tour of the school as well as pick up their schedules if they would like a hard copy. They will also be able to ask some general questions they might have.
Returning students/Friday, August 27th at 1:00- 2:30.
We wanted to have a time that returning students could stop by to pick up a copy of their schedule if needed and ask any questions they might have or just say hi! Schedules will we visible on Skyward by this day as well.
School items for purchase (ASB-$5, Parking-$5, Chromebook Assurance-$20):
All items can be paid for ONLINE through Skyward. The normal fee charged for paying online is being waived this year. You can also pay for items at the front office with cash or check on the above days, but it does get busy and paying online will save you time. You are also able to pay in the front office after school starts as well.
Parking Pass: In addition to purchasing a parking pass, students will need to complete this ONLINE FORM and upload a picture of their valid driver’s license. If you have trouble uploading a picture, they can bring a copy to the front office or we can make a copy for them. In addition we have hard copies of the parking form at the front desk.
Yearbooks: Yearbooks can be purchased directly through PICABOO. Cost is $25. If you have any problems with the website, please call the office at 360-833-5600.
*** Please be aware that teachers might not be available on these student drop in days, as they will be in trainings at various times. Parents will get the opportunity to meet/chat with teachers on our back to school night. That date is still to be determined. Email communication is always welcomed. Also, if there is any request to change scheduled classes, your student will discuss this with their Advocacy teacher the first few days of school.
Picture Day: Picture day will be Tuesday, September 7th. Please click HERE for the online ordering information and see the flyer below. Even if you are not purchasing pictures it will be important for your student to be photographed. They will receive their ID card this day and this will be the picture used in the yearbook. (Seniors, you will receive information on how to submit senior pictures for the yearbook at a later time). Picture retakes will not be until October 18th. We also have picture ordering forms at the front desk.
Chromebook Assurance: This is not mandatory, but highly recommended. The fee is $20. Please click HERE for the overview. Coverage must be purchased by the October 14th or you will be considered an opt-out. Pay ONLINE or at the front desk.

Free and Reduced Meals: Due to the public health emergency, the USDA has given schools the flexibility to operate the Seamless Summer Option (SSO) in school year 2021-22. Camas School District will be operating SSO and will offer meals each school day at no charge to ALL students. In anticipation of a return to normal child nutrition program operations and the potential expansion of P-EBT into SY 21-22, we are encouraging families to complete and submit an application for free or reduced price meals. There are additional district benefits for families that qualify In 2020, the Legislature passed House Bill 1660 – This bill aims to increase the participation of students who are low-income in extracurricular activities. Camas School District has broadened the assistance to include all fees and fines for academic and extracurricular.
Processing of Free and Reduced Meal Benefit Applications will begin Monday August 9th. Applications can be accessed online through your Skyward Family Access Account at https://www2.swrdc.wa-k12.net/scripts/cgiip.exe/WService=wcamass71/seplog01.w. Once in Skyward, go to Family Access, chose All Students, then Food Service tab on the left, then you will see Applications upper right. Click on that to complete and submit an online application. Applications are also available at https://www.camas.wednet.edu/schools-resources/resources/meals/, and paper copies can be picked up at the main office of your students school. Completing a Free and Reduced application prior to August 31 can qualify your student(s) for a one time Summer P-EBT benefit as well. Please go to

Fees & Fines Waiver Consent: In order to qualify for having school fees and fines waived or reduced, you must first qualify for the free/reduced lunch program, discussed above, or the College Bound Scholarship Program. In addition, we are required to have the waiver consent form completed. Click HERE to complete if you qualify.
Chromebook issue or new student to the district: These can be picked up during the student drop in day or the first day of school.
Chromebook login issues: Returning students having issues with their password, should try their full date of birth in this form 02022003 for 02/02/2003. Log in name is always email@example.com If issue continue, please reach out to the front desk for help. If a Chromebook is broken, please bring to the front desk, so we can check out a loaner and get the broken one fixed.
Sports: Student that attend Hayes are able to play sports at Camas High School. You must purchase an ASB card from Hayes along with completing CHS athletic registration forms. Click HERE for the athletics bulletin.
Sports Shuttle to CHS for practice is bus #80 and departs from Hayes at 3:10. If your student is participating in a sport, please have them check in with the front desk, so we can help manage pickup times for games, etc.
School Bus Transportation: Routes will be completed by the end of next week. You will be able to retrieve your student’s bus info HERE. If you have questions, please call 360-833-5600. If your student is unsure of busing on the first day of school, please be sure they come to the front desk during the day for help. If they wait until after school, they run the risk of missing the bus.
Cascadia Tech Bus Transportation: Cascadia students will be picked up by bus #53 in front of Hayes at 6:56 and depart sharply at 7:03 am. They we be brought back to Hayes after classes at Cascadia.
C-Trans Bus Passes: If you are in need of a C-trans student bus pass, please contact Kristi Thomas at 360-833-5600 to make arrangements. Applications are at the front desk.

11/4/20 Senior Families- we wanted to get some important senior event dates to you. As the end of the year approaches you will receive additional emails, but we know it is helpful for planning to have these dates as soon as possible. We will try to stick to this schedule as best as possible, but due to ongoing COVID conditions, things can change based on school status (remote or hybrid).

Show your pride and say congrats to your senior with a graduation lawn sign. Signs will be available for pickup in mid-April. Order by March 31st.
Hayes is proud to be offering plastic bag/wrap recycling. Recycle your household bags and wrap into Trex’s Earth-friendly composite decking and railing. Bring any approved plastic films in to Hayes for recycling.
