Late Start Information

CHS, Skyridge, and Liberty run late start schedules on occasional Wednesdays and Thursdays.  Hayes Freedom does NOT  follow this schedule.  However, transportation for HFHS is disrupted due to this. In an effort to ensure that students who are bound to district transportation do not miss out on classroom instruction, we run an altered schedule.
Students who are not bound to district transportation are expected to be here on time at 8:25am. In addition, any student with a current grade of D or below are required to be here at 8:25.  During that time, teachers will work with students on focused math, focused reading & writing, SAT prep, senior projects, classroom-based assessments, and catching up on any late or missing work.  This is another opportunity for students to get  individualized help from their teachers.

Students utilizing the school bus for transportation should arrive at their bus stops 2 hours and 20 minutes later than usual.

Inclement Weather Delays

Emergency and school closure information is posted to the local media via the FlashAlert system. Click here to view current emergency information.  In the event that school is closed or delayed due to inclement weather, the district’s emergency notification system will call parents at their home number around 6:00 AM to announce late start or closure information. If snow routes are in effect, the message will indicate so. Click here to view the snow routes.

If no announcement is made, bus routes and pick-up times will run as usual. Parents are asked to refrain from calling the district office or schools as high call volumes can shut down the phone system.

In the event of a two-hour delay students should arrive at bus stops two hours later than they normally arrive, but please allow for delays. Classes will begin at HFHS @ 10:25 AM.

Students of the Month

Be Kind~Be Proud~Be Fearless

Each month, teachers will choose one girl & one boy to be recognized as Students of the Month. These Renegades represent the qualities we look for every day - kindness, pride, fearlessness - in an outstanding manner, throughout their classes. These students are individuals who are consistently striving to do their best despite any obstacles and, in the process, inspiring others.
_______
We celebrate our Renegade Students of the Month with a display in our Commons. Please stop by to read the remarks of nominating teachers and to find out what being a Renegade means to these students.
