Office Opens August 14

Our offices will reopen on August 14, 2032.  Office hours will be 8:00am – 3:00pm.  We highly encourage appointments, but are happy to help with walk ins.  Information for the upcoming year will be sent out electronically via Parent Square no later than August 16th.  The first day of school is August 28th.  If you need help with Parent Square, Skyward login or have any other questions, please call Kristi Thomas 360-833-5600.  We hope you have been enjoying your summer!

Congratulations Class of 2023

Congratulations to the Class of 2023!   It was truly a pleasure and honor to get to know all of our graduates and know they all have bright futures ahead of them.

Backing Up Google Drive:  Seniors can back up their school google drive.  Click HERE for directions.  I believe the content will be removed in mid-July, so don’t wait, if there are documents and items in your google drive that you want to save.

Shout Outs:  During the senior dessert night we acknowledged several students with different awards.  Graduating with High Honors/ Academic Excellence all 4 years: Zachary Andrade – 4.0 GPA, Rocco Pacione-3.975 GPA, Calia Rubano-3.776 GPA, Ruby Cowart-3.773 GPA and Jake Daly- 3.518 GPA.  The following students were given a certificate and acknowledged for Maintaining a GPA of 3.5 since transferring to Hayes Freedom:  Amy Eckert and Zoe Wisen.  Citizenship Awards: , Ke’aden Bullick and Ronald Manandic.

Final Transcript Request:  If a final official transcript is needed to be sent to a college, trade school or employer, please complete a request form (attached) or send Kristi an email.  We have received several request already, but we are sure there is a few more that need to be turned in.

The last day of school is June 21st and release time is 1:15.  We hope you have a wonderful summer break!

Summer School:  If your student failed any classes this year, they have an opportunity to take summer school.  Click HERE for more information.

Fines & Outstanding Materials:   Fine notices were be mailed out today.  If you find any outstanding items they be returned tomorrow and we will adjust the fine.  Otherwise, you can hold unto the items and return at the beginning of next year.  If you wish to pay the fines, instruction for paying online will be on the notice or you can pay with check or cash in the fall.

Chromebooks:  Please make sure to properly store Chromebooks over the summer. Leaving them in hot cars or in the sun damages them.  

Summer Hours:  6/22/23 – 6/23/23  Appointment Only.  6/226/23 – 8/11/23  Office Closed.  Office Reopens 8/14/23  8:00 am – 3:00 pm.   First day of school is 8/28/23.  Labor Day Weekend / No school: 9/1/23 & 9/4/23.

Jostens gave a senior presentation on January 12th going over the ordering information for graduation announcements, class rings, cap and gowns, as well as other senior items. 

Jostens will be her on Thursday, January 26th, to pick up order forms and help with any questions, you might have.  Ordering now guarantees the lower price, items being in stock, as well as not having to put a deposit down. Orders placed after this date might be subject to higher prices and payment in full. Order forms can be dropped off at the front desk, or you can order on-line .  Online orders will require a deposit.

If purchasing a cap and gown becomes a problem for your family, please contact Kristi Thomas at 360-833-5600. Remember, no deposit is required at this time, so please get your order in.

Graduation is a tremendous accomplishment and we wish all our soon-to-be graduates great success.

 

Running Start Virtual Information Meetings

Attend a Virtual Running Start Information Night to learn more about the  Running Start program at Clark College!  
 
About this event: These optional information sessions are for students and their families who want to know more about beginning the Running Start program in the 2023-2024 school year. You’ll hear current Running Start students describe their experiences in the program and learn about eligibility, enrollment steps, placement options and tips for academic planning. There will also be a designated Q&A time at the end of the event. Live language interpretation in Ukrainian, Russian and Spanish is available at each event as well as live captioning in English.  
  
What is Running Start? The Running Start program allows high school juniors and seniors to earn college credits while completing their high school education—saving students money while advancing their education. Students are able to attend college, at minimal cost, while still living at home as a high school student.  
  
Running Start Information Night Dates (Virtual) (All nights are optional and provide the same information.):  

  • Monday, January 23 at 6 p.m.

Cascadia Tech Field Trip

Want to learn more about the Cascadia Tech Program?

A representative from Cascadia will be doing a presentation here at Hayes for students interest in learning more about the program on February 2nd.  Hayes Freedom will take a field trip to Cascadia Tech Academy on Friday, February 10th.  Sophomores and Juniors interested in attending Cascadia Tech Academy next fall can tour the campus and check out the many programs available to them.     A permission slip will be sent home after the presentation with those students who sign up to attend. Please feel free to email or call our counselor, Timm DiStefano with any questions or concerns.

Order and Personalize your 2022-23 HFHS Yearbook

Yearbooks can only be purchased through the Picaboo site.  You will NOT be able to order through school until the end of the year when we have a small extra supply.

Order online now through May 5th.  You can also choose to personalize 4 pages and the back cover for FREE! 

Order a hardcover yearbook for $35 or softcover for $25. It will be delivered to you at school in June, before graduation.

SENIORS : Please submit your preferred yearbook portrait HERE  by April 28th, or your school ID photo will be used.

PARENTS/GUARDIANS OF SENIORS : If you are interested in purchasing a Senior Ad in the yearbook to celebrate your student’s accomplishments. 

 Cost: Options : 1/4 page=$10, 1/2 page=$20, full page layout=$30.

Open House- September 29th

You are invited to attend our annual open house, Thursday, September 29th,  from 6:00 to 7:00pm.

This will be a time to informally chat with the Hayes Freedom faculty and staff, as well as visit classrooms and tour the school.  This is a great opportunity to see what type of work our students are doing!

Students who have actively involved parents perform better in their school activities, so come out and support your student & our school.

Picture Retake Day

Students who missed Picture Day on September 6th or would like to retake photos will need to be here October 17th for retakes.

If dissatisfied with previous photos, students must bring back the original order on Retake Day to avoid an additional charge.
