Seniors Over the Cuckoo’s Nest

Seniors from Mrs. Spencer’s English 12 class have been reading the classic novel One Flew Over the Cuckoo’s Nest this quarter and created some insightful haiku poems about the characters. Mrs. Spencer shared the students’ work with the Education Coordinator at Portland Center Stage as their company is currently performing the stage version of the novel.

Check out the link at Portland Center Stage’s blog featuring our Renegades’ work!

Some HFHS students will be attending a performance of the play March 16.

Students of the Month

Be Kind~Be Proud~Be Fearless

Each month, teachers will choose one girl & one boy to be recognized as Students of the Month. These Renegades represent the qualities we look for every day - kindness, pride, fearlessness - in an outstanding manner, throughout their classes. These students are individuals who are consistently striving to do their best despite any obstacles and, in the process, inspiring others.
_______
We celebrate our Renegade Students of the Month with a display in our Commons. Please stop by to read the remarks of nominating teachers and to find out what being a Renegade means to these students.
