Fox Rocks because Fox Walks – Walk on Oct. 16!
Dorothy Fox is the winner of the most students who walk to school in the district. 85% of our students are in the Walk Zone. A school’s walk zone is determined “as the crowe flies” in a circle with the school in the center, 1/2 mile outwards on a map in all directions. Because we are a true neighborhood school, this incorporates most of our students. Of course, it might take more than 0.5 miles on a paved street to walk to the school and that is where the opportunity to get exercise comes in!
Walking is one of the best ways to stay healthy, reduce pollution, and avoid traffic. It’s also one of the best ways to connect with cool people and great places. Whether we are commuting to work or school, meeting friends, or exploring the neighborhood, a walk can become an adventure. It’s amazing what can happen when we walk!
The Fox Community is encouraged not to drop off your child in a car, but find a way to walk on October 16th to school in celebration of Walktober!
